Anti Ragging

Anti Ragging Cell:

In accordance with the Supreme Court order on Ragging (2007), the judgement of the Supreme Court on Ragging (2009) and the UGC Regulations to curb the menace of Ragging (2009), Maharaja Manindra Chandra College, has zero tolerance policy against ragging and takes strict measures for surveillance, control and reprimand on any case of ragging. The college has a well established Anti-ragging Cell as per UGC regulation which works vigilantly for detection and swift action. The institution supports its students in all manners possible and protects their well-being.

Anti-ragging measures:

A student or group of students found guilty by the anti-ragging committee will attract one or more of the following punitive action by the college authority:

  1.  Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  2.  Withholding / withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
  3.  Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.
  4.  Withholding results.
  5.  Debarring from undertaking any collaborative work or attending national or international conferences/symposia/meeting to present his/her research work.
  6.  Suspension/expulsion from the hostels and mess.
  7.  Cancellation of examination.
  8.  Expulsion from a specified institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
  9.  If need be, in view of the intensity of the act of ragging committed, a First Information Report (FIR) shall be filed by the Institute with the local police authorities.

The Anti-Ragging Committee of the Institute shall take appropriate decision, including imposition of punishment, depending on the facts and circumstances of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging.
